The First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah (The Most Sacred Season of Worship)
Praise be to ALLAH WHO has created Time and has made some times better than others, some months and days and nights better than others, when rewards are multiplied many times, as a mercy towards HIS servants. This encourages them to do more righteous deeds and makes them more eager to worship HIM, so that the Muslim renews his efforts to gain a greater share of reward, prepare himself for death and supply himself in readiness for the Day of Judgement.
This season of worship brings many benefits, such as the opportunity to correct one’s faults and make up for any shortcomings or anything that one might have missed. Every one of these special occasions involves some kind of worship through which the servants may draw closer to ALLAH, and some kind of blessing through which ALLAH bestows HIS favor and mercy upon whomsoever HE will. The happy person is the one who makes the most of these special months, days, and hours and draws nearer to his Lord during these times through acts of worship; he will most likely be touched by the blessing of ALLAH and will feel the joy of knowing that he is safe from the flames of the hellfire.
The Muslim must understand the value of his life, increase his worship of ALLAH and persist in doing good deeds until the moment of his death. ALLAH (swt) says: “And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty!”
During the special seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, which ALLAH has preferred over all the other days of the year.
Ibn Abbas (may ALLAH be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (prayers and peace be upon him) said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to ALLAH than these ten days.” The people asked, “Not even jihad for the sake of ALLAH?” He said, “Not even jihad for the sake of ALLAH, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing!”

EID MUBARAK
We thank Allah for blessing us with another year of Ramadan, may Allah accept our fast, our prayers, and dua’s. We pray that this Eid will find you and your’s in good health, good spirit, and a sound heart. Amen
The President has issued a statement extending Eid greetings to all:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 30, 2011
Statement by the President on the Occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr
Michelle and I would like to send Eid greetings to Muslim communities in the United States and around the world. Ramadan has been a time for families and communities to share the happiness of coming together in intense devotion, reflection, and service. Millions all over the world have been inspired to honor their faith by reaching out to those less fortunate. This year, many have observed the month while courageously persevering in their efforts to secure basic necessities and fundamental freedoms. The United States will continue to stand with them and for the dignity and rights of all people, whether a hungry child in the Horn of Africa or a young person demanding freedom in the Middle East and North Africa.
As Ramadan comes to an end, we send our best wishes for a blessed holiday to Muslim communities around the world. Eid Mubarak.
